What Is IBCC Attestation?

IBCC attestation is the official verification of your matric (SSC) and intermediate (HSSC) certificates by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen. The IBCC is the designated authority in Pakistan responsible for attesting educational documents issued by all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) across the country. This attestation confirms that your certificate is genuine and was issued by a recognised Pakistani board.

IBCC attestation is a mandatory requirement if you plan to use your matric or intermediate certificates for employment abroad, foreign visa applications, further education in another country, or any process that requires MOFA attestation and embassy legalisation of secondary-level educational documents.

Which Documents Does IBCC Attest?

IBCC attests the following educational documents:

  • Secondary School Certificate (SSC / Matric) issued by any BISE in Pakistan
  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC / Intermediate) issued by any BISE in Pakistan
  • Diplomas of Associate Engineering (DAE) and other technical diplomas
  • Certificates from recognised Madaris (religious institutions) that have been verified by the relevant Wafaq

Note: University-level degrees (bachelor’s, master’s, MPhil, PhD) are attested by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), not IBCC.

How to Apply for IBCC Attestation

IBCC has modernised its attestation process with an online portal. Here is the step-by-step procedure:

Online Application (E-Portal)

  1. Visit the IBCC E-Portal at ibcc.edu.pk and create your account
  2. Select “Attestation” from the services menu
  3. Fill in the online application form with your personal and certificate details
  4. Upload scanned copies of required documents
  5. Pay the attestation fee online
  6. Schedule an appointment to visit the IBCC office (if submitting in person)
  7. Submit your original documents at the appointment or send via courier

In-Person Submission

You can also visit an IBCC office directly. IBCC has offices in Islamabad (H-8), Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta. However, even for in-person visits, you must register and schedule an appointment through the online portal first.

Submission Through Authorised Person

The certificate holder does not need to come in person. A blood relative can submit documents on your behalf with proper authorisation, or you can use approved courier services to send your documents.

Your Steps (What You Need to Do)

  1. Gather your original certificates and supporting documents
  2. Register on the IBCC online portal
  3. Complete the application form and pay fees online
  4. Submit original documents in person, through an authorised relative, or via courier
  5. Wait for processing (7 to 10 working days for normal service)
  6. Collect your attested documents or receive them via courier
